Among calli (streets) and campielli (squares) of Venice, were born world wide famous manufacturies, like blown glass, lace and shoes. It’s in this city, in fact, that already in XIII century the confraternity of Calegheri (shoemakers in Venetian) was established, a such renowned corporation for the quality of the material and the refinement of its works, to have as its clients the royals and nobles of European courts. But not only. The culture of the shoe is so deeply rooted in the lagoon city that the guild established a school in 1446.
And this is the tradition the Terrin family decided to carry on, when in 1957 they founded Donna Carolina. Focusing on the highest quality product that combines style and comfort.
Born as a workshop, today Donna Carolina distributes its products in more than 15 countries. Despite the growth, the company always puts the same attention to detail in each stage of the production. Over 100 steps are necessary to make the Donna Carolina shoes. From the selection of the best Italian leathers, worked for more than one hour by master craftsmen, to the finishing operations. The result are unique shoes like the women who wear them.
